Also, is there still a police interest in land rovers on eBay? didn't i read that there was a landywatch/police thing going on?

If you note the document details and pass them onto DVLA, the new owner will find it impossible to register this and will probably get a visit.

The document shown in that listing is for a 3.5 V8 petrol.

How many 3.5 V8 TD5 petrol engines have ya seen?:crazy:

The vehicle pictured is a 2.4 tdci puma engine jobby

Im trying to report it to DVLA as well but there bloody enquiry system is useless.

Its taking ages to send the form through.

The power of landyzone, aided by two threads. This has to be good policy to report all these clearly illegal listings. We need to do something to slow the spiral of thieving and ringing. Of course, if anyone wants to buy the ID they will be still be able to contact the seller as he put up his mobile number. So good idea to also alert DVLA.

Ive tried to email them but there system is all but useless and wouldn't complete the process last night.

I know you report, but does it have any effect? Is there any feedback of successful prosecutions? This one is the most obviously illegal I've seen for a while and the high bid price on this auction suggests it is a serious problem.

In the past, we got some good feedback from AVCIS when they acted on our intel. For example...

....On another note, we have had our first success. I visited someone who had taxed one of the ID's that sold on E-bay back in November. When we arrived at his house he had the number plates, vin plate and a tax disc proudly displayed on a totally different vehicle. We are in the process of trying to find out the true ID.

Whether this led to prosecution/conviction, I'm afraid I don't know and I'm not sure if they would/could tell us anyway.

After a good few months of silence from AVCIS, yesterday I received an email thanking us for the regular submissions and assuring me that even if they don't reply, they do look at all of them and some have been useful in ongoing investigations.

Once again, nothing conclusive but better than nothing......

Done it mate. Ill do it on my dads, brothers and gfs accounts too
