PLEASE read - STOLEN Range Rover Sport

Hello everyone! - Great resource and info, I have browsed for a while now - keep up the good work

Please don't be mad for me joining for the following selfish reason but I wanted to spread the word about a stolen RR.

To cut a long story short, a 2006 Black RR Sport V8 Supercharged was stolen today (11th Dec 2009) from the Birmingham area at around 8.30am. *I’d prefer not to announce the reg, but if I say it only has four characters* – You’d not miss it if you saw it. (I appreciate that it’s probably had it’s plates changed already and/or been/being stripped now).

Please watch out for a Range, in good condition (barring a few scuffs on the Storm Wheels) that seems ‘too’ cheap! - Or v cheap parts?? – Please let me know if you see the car around.


When it was stolen the spec/info was the following:

Completely standard Range Rover Sport (SC V8) (2006)
Circa 30k on the clock
Black leather Interior
Storm Wheels
Pas Side Front door was sticking when opening from the outside
Small scuff on the nearside front bumper, right on the corner.
Rear plate was rectangular (not one that fitted the whole of the rear aperture)

Yea, I feel it will.. Still, I'd like to hope that with the ANPR's that are all over the place now and with the Tracker it'd turn up... I live in hope...

can you let us know how they got it? I.e. was it lifted or keys or hotwire etc. May help us avoid the same method. Thanks and good luck on getting it back.

Hi Dolph...They got the keys. I was hoping that it'd be in a carpark somewhere. The only way to avoid this (I think) would be to have the additional 'Immobilizer' system with Tracker I think?? ...

well you do stand a chance with the tracker on it,i believe the thieves park it up somewhere and if it isn't found in a day or two they move it on.good luck with getting it back.keep us informed as to how you get on with it.

Yea, thats what I had heard too (RE: Parking and waiting 48hrs).. they must know the tracker is on it! I'll keep you posted guys

Sorry to say,but the trackers can be by passed :S, hope you get it back in one piece tho:d or the money to get a new one

on my 2002 L322 I can input a 4 number code into the stereo/info readout in the dash which will not allow starting without the right code being inputted. does the RRS not have this? Mine is only a HSE.

passed a nice looking one today on a pub car park in stourbridge,reg number "34 RR" dunno yer reg so cant say :doh:

and me, same spec, goin M4 between port talbot and swansea with 9 MVR plate - as above dont know reg so cant say

What have Tracker said to you?
I assume they can still know it's location even if the car is being moved with the keys in.
I'm also keen to know as I've just treated my Freelander to one, just to get that warm feeling if some scumbag decides to take it for a ride.

Sorry to hear your bad news. I suffered the same a month ago with my Defender stolen from Leicestershire (see thread on here '110 defender stolen')

I think mine is long gone now, and I will be fitting a tracker to my next one! I'll also be fitting a remote controlled guillotine, so I can slice the bastards it they ever want to come back!!!

I posted all the details of mine on here: Reg number and photos, as I think it could help finding it. As you say, it's not likely to be on the road with the same plates though.

Good luck anyway, and I hope everyone who has not been so unlucky takes not that Land rover theft is rife, and they should all review their security measures.
