What have I bought ?
Ive got a Series bitsa landy. Brakes are dire.
Had a look, will need a new master cylinder, all shoes, and 1 of each pistons
Looking at parts suppiers online the brakes are described by the vehicle the might once have belonged to, eg LWB S2 or whatever. Ive no idea what to order.

Master cylinder - 7 inches long, dual circuit, Girling and a number on the side which is hard to read - something like 74390?93

Front brakes - 11" drums, 2" shoes, 2 single pistons
one piston marked Girling and maybe 309460

Rear brakes 10" x 1.5", the wheel cylinder has 2 pistons. Could be marked with AR21

Sounds like 1980-on 88" or standard 109".

"interesting".
The pistons on the rear drums have metric threads. I found out by failing to fit the replacements I'd bought. Could they be discovery, defender etc ?
Once identified, perhaps there will be a choice of bore sizes like the series has between SWB and LWB
Pictures soon

i desperately needed a rear cylinder for me 86 110.. think i found one from unipart and it came with the wrong thread on it.. i couldn't wait to get the right one and luckily i have a bunch of various unions, so i just fitted cut the pipe and fitted the thread it wanted.

these fitted perfectly, though of a slimmer design

so you never know!
