hi all,, hoping all your combined knowledge can help.. I have a 51 plate freelander sport,,, the other day I noticed a pool of water as I left it ticking over,, on lifting the bonnet the coolant bottle was bubbling up & water was spurting out of the cap,,
greateful for any advice,, thanks in advance Paul...

Could just be the expansion tank cap, may be any number of other things! Thermostat, blocked radiator, leak elsewhere leaving you short of coolant, the list goes on.
Have a search around, but don't assume it's the head gasket straight away...

no leaks from elsewhere,, gna try buying a new cap,,

I had to replace the bottle in mine. Loads of cracking around the top. Hopefully this is all is wrong, it could be the dreaded HGF as exhaust gasses could be blowing into the coolant.
