Please Help !!

G'day , i have a P plate 300tdi , but yesterday i lost drive , the front prop turns but not the rear .. how can i sort this ..? as needed to get to stables

Front prop turns when stationary? If it does then you've broken something in your front axle, diff, cv, half, shaft etc! Try it in diff lock. It should put the drive to the rear axle too but you'll only be two wheel drive and may get orrible noises out the front axle depending on what's broken,

Take the front prop off and use difflock.

try the h/l to make sure its in neutral

make sure diffs are ok jack one wheel up off the ground to check do this on the front and back because if the rear is knackered then you can drive in 2wd
also do you have any drive ? in any gear ?
have you a good clutch ?

clutch is fine , when we engage gear and release clutch front prop turns but makes grinding noises , when we select either hi or low , still same effect front turns but not rear and no drive at all ..

Read my post! Front prop should not be able to turn when stationary! It should make the wheels turn, soooo something is broken in the front axle! If you put it in diff lock it will put drive to the rear wheels as I said in my first post and it will drive but you will still have a broken front axle!!!

sorry but if you read my post , we put in diff lock and still no drive just a turning front prop

You only say you've gone from high to low! That's not diff lock???

ahh sorry for the confusion , tried the selector in 3 positions . how is diff lock achieved ..?

High low is forward/backward on the lever diff lock is sideways!

You have high neutral low in open diff move it sideways and you have the same three in diff lock!

To lock the diff you need to push the hi - lo lever to the left

ok went all way to left and up and down and sill no drive it tries to inch forward but get nowhere STRESSED LOL

If its never been used its probably pretty seized, work it side to side and make sure it's not in the neutral position

could be your lever has slipped on adjustment

done that mate ,, the front prop sill turns , but fek all happens .. could the transfer box be also knackered ..??

if this a hard fix or can i tackle it .. im not a mechanic but will have a play !

looks like the short front halfshaft has given up , anyone got one close to dewsbury ... pick up today ..? 24 spline
