Right guys, nearly fitted the stereo tonight,but need some advice, I now have a low pitch hissing noise, like your in between station on FM, it's constant regardless of what you are listening too, and without the engine running. Any ideas,
The iso patch leads have a wire for power to the amp/ariel, where does this get wired to, if at all
Also there are three little block connectors, yellow, pink and blue I think, what happens to these

In your ICE installation, as you've already said you don't have the amplifier under the passenger's seat so I would say that you don't need to connect that amp/aerial wire to anything. It has two jobs, one is to signal to the amplifier when to switch on and the second job is to wind one of those automatic extending aerials and to wind it down again when you turn the radio off.
So far as the static is concerned, I'd check very carefully the aerial cable. It actually comes from an aerial amplifier above one or other of the rear side windows; the actual aerial is those three wires etched on to the glass. I think that there's only one aerial feed on your system.
Do you have any output if you select a tape or CD whichever is yours?

thanks for the reply brian, i do have an amp under the passenger seat, sorry for the confusion....
i have the iso conectors as listed before and attached
The hissing is regardless of what you are listerning to, Its a DAB radio if that helps.
In my simple world i would guess somthing not right in the wiring/earth

Right, I think I've got it.
It looks like the output of the radio is being fed through the amplifier, that's why it's impossible to set the volume. There doesn't appear to be any low level outputs from the radio.
Looking at the installation manual for your radio, I assume that you're using the connections for the loudspeakers which connect to the connector "D". That being the case, you should be using the front R and L wires and set the radio up the sub-woofer to NONE and the rear speakers to NONE (2-way crossover settings, page 22). This will give you a basic single stereo output which can be fed to the amplifier but it will still be too loud.
To put that right you're going to have to introduce a "preset volume control" in the audio leads to the amplifier. Something liked this device: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111393023065?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The main difficulty with trying to wire up the speakers is that the output from the radio goes to under the passenger's seat and that's where the various speakers are also wired from. This can make things a bit awkward when an aftermarket head unit is fitted.
Even though it is awkward, you could alternatively ditch the amplfier under the seat and wire in a loom of wires to take the speaker lines from the head unit down to under the seat so that you can connect directly to the various loudspeaker wires under there. The speakers in the car are connected up so that you don't need to use the 3-way crossover.
If you're thinking really "out-of-the-box" then I suppose you could arrange the loudspeaker wires as I've suggested but also arrange for the Sub-woofer feed to go to the amplifier and use it to power the pair in the rear tailgat door. In the Disco 2 they're just a pair of speakers but in the Disco 1 they were built with a sub-woofer amp on the mounting frame.

The yellow plug (8-way) in your first pic is the wiring to the loudspeakers; front and rear, left and right via the amplifier under the seat.
The grey 8-way plug connect to the facilities required. You'll have to trace the wires through to your new installation. Pin 5 (Red/Brown wire) is called "System Enable" and that's used to switch the amplifier on.
The three smaller plugs, two 6-way and one 8-way are for the headphone sockets behind the rear seats and the 8-way is for the CD autochanger.
That Amplified Sound System Interface unit is probably a double type of unit similar to the one on ebay. If there are little screwdriver slots in those holes, then yes they are for setting the max level into the amplifier.
I don't know what instructions you have for setting them, but left to me I would turn them all down to minimum then set the volume of the head unit to somewhere in the middle of its range then adjust each speaker level control on your little box to a comfortable listening level out of each speaker; front and rear doors. The two speakers in the tailgate door is looked after by the amplifier.

If you want it simple just buy the bits from Incartec as per my link above - plug it all together - job done
