Have you got an iPhone or iPad? If your bored you could look at my map instruction post and see if Google map app works on rescue map please-I have tried to tidy it a bit and make it easier to use

Ok update to the shopping list...

Mr J.M. spoke to me today and said my rocky mountain overdrive kit had arrived together with my shiny new suspension.

Today I ordered a few bits and bobs from Si at X Eng. what a wonderful chap. Why? Well I had ordered some of his Xtrouser extenders because I have already gotten my jacket caught in the damn door. Si called me to inform me that they will not fit a series three. Bugger.

I had conformation that my sidebars are on the way up to Mr J.M. These were ordered from kevin@

What another fantastic, amazing chap. On customer service one cannot fault him and Kevin seems to know a bit about everything!

I also ordered my new colour scheme for the paint today. The paint will be brushed on I think or at least that is my semi intention as the old girl is one of those working girls you know? If she scratches her nails then I can give her a quick manicure etc blah blah!

Together with the paint I ordered a 5litre or 5gallon drum of HGV truck cleaning detergent, some brushes, rollers and paint stripper.

Oh I also checked out this web site...
http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_211&products_id=398

I must admit I am rather taken with adding a complete new light set to my truck. I am absolutely considering these LED driving lights and the 70mm led lights to replace my tired warn odd coloured dim, slow blinking, lack of 4 way hazard warning lights original rubies!
BUT the cost of all of these lights runs into a figure that equates to two thirds for what I paid for her two weeks ago!

What do you guys all think? At this rate I must be aiming for a front cover feature of one of the maize news???

Mr Dr Evil.

I was hoping to be grabbing some beauty sleeps.

I have an iPad which I am frantically tapping away at!

I will have a look into this map app thing, I am fairly IT savoy especially as I have just finished tweaking my web site for my company.

Looking now.

Mr J.M is soooo much going to go spastic!

I have a three hour drive ahead of me!

I was hoping to get some sleep too but late nights and work means I am awake :) gonna top up the energy with some pasta in a bit complete the work then go for a good 5 hour nap this afternoon

Oops sorry fanatic I thought it was mr evil awake?!

Any way.

I have accessed the map via tapatalk iPad app. Very slow so now I am trying to download google maps app to then benchmark some more.

One immediate suggestion and it's something very minor, would be to move the two app links, apple and android up to where the current link is for the map. This just makes things a little more intuitive for idiots like my self!

Tapatwat isn't great :( I didn't buy it but safari and google map app itself is far better :)

Ok.

Having read the whole map guide it certainly feels like there was a lot of work involved.

I also realised that you are aware that tap talk runs deathly slow with the map.

A question please?

I have now downloaded google maps to my iPad. How on earth do I get the map data sheet into the google map app on my iPad???

Good question on android when I click the map link in how to page it asks what to use eg chrome or Google maps, I also have a Google account and it gives option to save to my places. If your not getting a pop up,then it appears you need a googlemail account and bookmark it in browser to appear in maps.

I'm using a nexus 7 android tablet, I have no access to an iPad so help would be great to debug

Yes. It looks like you have to open google maps from the link, then when the map data has propagated I guess you then log into google and google places will save all the data to your profile.

This is all well and good if you have a google addy!

There must be another way?

Try pasting link into map app
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=206406742359300041572.0004aced32df5c8433259&output=kml

Think the reason link in thread I posted fails for 2 reasons
1] maps app does not like https instead of http
2] the link when opened with popup in android adds "&output=kml" this in effect pulls kml download into map app!

Can you test it out for me please on ipad/iphone with google map app

Tried pasting into google maps app just comes bk with no results

That is strange, the web link changed to map link causes a download in chrome browser and map to open in map app on android.
Unless someone with an iphone can figure it out-i'll need to find someone who has an apple device i can borrow for an hour or so.
