please help electric rear window not working

For Christ's sake don't do what I did - I put it straight into my mind that the motor was knackered. As I was away from home I set to taking the door skin off, pushing the window right up and jamming a large piece of wood back in before putting the door skin back on.
What you should try first, is take the other rear window switch (presuming that window is working) and put it in place of the one that isn't (try the front console first then the rear). If it now works, it's a switch!
If it doesn't, I am told that there is a small part in the scissor arrangement which pushes the window up and down that snaps off - I guess if you press the switches and hear nothing it's likely to be a switch. if you press the switches and hear something but there's no movement then there's a problem with the mechanics of it.
