Hi I’ve just changed the pinion oil seal on the rear diff of my defender 90 td5.
Can anyone advise me of the torque setting for the flange centre nut?
Many thanks

Hi, I need to replace pinion oil seal in the rear axle. I am unsure which axle I have to get correct replacement oil seal. Can anyone tell me how to tell which I have please ? Defender 90 300 tdi 1998.
Thanks ;)

bearings will be preloaded when you retighten flange , they use a shim between the bearings , so it only matters that nuts tight, though if you have a torque wrench use it ,but its not essential

id go for "Fuggin" tight.
thats the tightest i got, its above GudN, pretty, Fairly, and finger...

sorry, ill go back to the beer now

I know it's an old thread but since I got a fairly similar question as smbaker above, I figured we don't need a new thread. ;)

So I also need to replace that seal. It's a 2005 110 TD5 Defender and that oil is coming out of the diff right where the prop shaft sits.

What exact seal do I need?
