If it is an EDC then don't forget if it's been run on veg (most just think it's a 300 so will run veg) the shaft may have snapped.

But you're a veg runner so probably know this already.

why would the shaft snap on veg? its just a bosch ve pump but with electronics on it.

Just had it firing on easy start.

There is diesel leaking out the back of the injection pump on one of the injector pipes when it's just sat there. Just a drip every ten seconds or so but I'm guessing this isn't going to be helping with pressure to the injectors

well ive tightened up that pipe on the injector and it made no difference. Still dripping. I need to get the mrs to crank it whilst i am watching as i dont know whats happening when its turning over.

did find the previous owner has upgraded the seats to leather - heated MMMmmmm

Now forgive my ignorance but there is rather a load buzzing coming from the injection pump. Is this normal? Or sign its fubared

Oh theres no lights on the dash to indicate its immobilised by the way.

That leaking pipe i am struggling to tell if it is that particular one, its just thats the only thing that has diesel on it when i feel around there. Its the very bottom one on the pump (if that makes any odds at all)

someone has previously had the dds unit off.

Ive applied power to the top of the diesel stop solenoid and it clicks but then starts buzzing. Sign of it being knackered?

It shouldn't buzz.
It's easy to pull the solenoid off, remove the plunger and then replace it.
If it starts then you've found the problem.
The only issue with doing this is if it does start you'll need to stall it, and being an auto it's not that easy, but blocking the air intake will do it.

The leaking pipe should have an olive in it or a seal has that gone n the diesel is seeping.so when turned off air is getting in hence no start other than easy starting it.

I think your right and it's a seal on the pump.

As soon as I energised the solenoid it started leaking.

Pump rebuild time.

im rather tempted to have the pump off samins 300tdi as its just sat there whilst the chassis gets done...

obviously doing the manual pump conversion
