Ok I'll see if anyone has the above in the north east

Just spoke to a local landrover specialist and he said that as its 9 years old what tends to happen is the springs wear etc and recalibrating it should be enough to sort it, he said £54 all in so seems ok unless I find someone else with diagnostics local to me who wants to do it instead

The airsprings fail when old but nothing that happens to them affects the heights until the point of failure, height is controlled by the height sensors which also wear but the readings do not change significantly until they reach the point of failure. Bad connections do cause faults and erroneous heights

So do you the a recalibration is a waste of time?

Looking at your measurements you posted - I guess you checked against the height chart I posted - it is a little low at the rear by an 1" and a half....

A recalibration will ensure the ECU is setup correctly - and the only harm it will do is to your wallet...

Confirm your measurements against the chart and then make a judgement.

Yeah it's definitely to low at the back, do you think it's more likely to be airbags or height sensors at fault ? The garage said they would calibrate and tell me if it needs anything

Re-calibrate and see if it holds the calibration, if it does not and the back goes out of cal then it will be time for investigation. you don't know what has gone before, it may be that it has been worked on and re-calibrated incorrectly.

As Datatek pointed out the state of the airbags is irrelevant - unless they are holed badly enough to leak faster than the compressor can keep up - in that case the corner will sag to the bump stops when you park the car up unless it's holed or cracked in a fold which gets covered up at a certain height. The ride height is set against programmed-in figures depending on the feedback from the height sensors. These demanded-height figures can be trimmed (altered) with diagnostic kit. The sensors can give faulty readings but they're usually fine or knackered - very rarely anything in-between.

Cool so a recalibration should see it right if everything is working as it should which I think it is, dosn't get any lower over night and it changes into different modes quickly etc, can't wait to get it looking like a proper range rover lol

Hi mate I havn't had it done yet but it's getting done at northeastern 4x4in portrack, might be with ringing them about your gearbox, the height is doing my head in now though lol, I left it in offroad height last night and it didn't drop at all so can't wait to get it re calibrated
