My brother had a phone kit fitted to his 96 Tdi ES yesterday and afterwards the SRS light stayed on , the ABS light wouldn't come on at all , fuel gauge stuck at 3/4 full and dash lights failed to come on .
Today the company called back the guy who installed the kit - dash lights are back , ABS light is back BUT the SRS light remains on and he reckons the second S in SRS is flashing .
A friend of mine in the trade has a launch X431 but apparently had no success in scanning to find the problem .
Does this mean a trip to the main dlr for Testbook ? I see from Rave that the wiring for the SRS system is encased in a yellow sheathing and should not be tampered with - possibility is that the fitter tapped into the SRS wiring and if so a fault will have been logged and only Testbook will clear it .
Would this be a reasonable assumption .
Any ideas/suggestions welcome .
