higher resale value of comparable vehicle when compared to a petrol, better economy, ability to use recycled cooking oils and bio fuels.

resale is a bit more mainly due to the false view propagated by folks who know nothing about the "k" and act like sheep when deriding them.
petrols are faster, quicker, cleaner running and way betterer.
