Hello,
Over the past few months, this site has been most helpful, and I've always managed to find information without needing to start a new thread. However, I've searched and searched the internet and cannot find any information about my current problem.

When I start the engine from cold, there is no smoke (maybe a tiny bit of steam but nothing excessive) and the engine runs nicely. However, once it warms up, I start to get a grey/blue haze from the exhaust. This gets worse as it heats up, but it still runs smoothly with only a very occasional misfire.
If I rev the engine, I get a large cloud of white smoke upon pressing the accelerator, followed by a constant haze of grey/blue smoke that fills the driveway.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Oliver

However ...

Check your compression, as you might have a bit of oil passing the rings.

Check for mayo on your oil filler cap.

Are you losing any oil or water?

I always assume blue means burning oil, black means too much fuel and white means water somewhere in the combustion system. If it happens when she is hot that sounds like the temperature is just right for the production of steam. So head gasket seems likely.

Check your venting along with the suggestions above - plugged breathers can cause this because they don't release blow-by and can cause crap to get into the combustion chamber.

Run the engine when warm with the radiator cap off and watch for bubbles/oil in the coolant too.
