I have just purchased my first Land Rover. It is a 1994 Discovery. I have a question. When I start the truck, it goes into a 1500 rpm rev then backs off to 1000 rpm then to 750 rpm. this happens even when it is warmed up. sometimes it will rev even higher for a few seconds.
is this normal? it also is running very rich. Very hard on fuel and lot of black wet exhaust comes out. what can i do about these issues?

What engine is it?
Petrol? Diesel?
HOW can we help if you don't give us the basics?
It sounds like a faulty petrol engine - or maybe a diesel .

Ave bin crackin walnuts all wkend so if yours need crackin yer gonna ave ter book a slot fer next week cos i **** crack no more til then... need a rest..
