I have just moved from a very busy station where we caught a good number of car thieves to a very small rural area that only have 1 patrol car the rest of the vehicles are defenders, gaylanders, or discos. I have to do the 4x4 course in order to drive them. Plus we get a lot of stolen landys round here who make off across fields. So yes i do need off road driving

I hope you get to successfully put your training to good use then.
Out of curiosity I'm guessing that you didn't do 'high speed driving while offroad' as part of your course? The only reason I say that is cos I'm pretty sure a landy thief in a stolen vehicle will outrun a police landrover offroad. Not because of lack of your ability but more due to the lack of respect for other peoples property.

I get to drive off-road quite a bit too - sadly though, not with my Landie, just my Daf XF105 artic!
