Perished Tyres

Hi, I'm new here. Just got a Defender 90 300TDi, had a new chassis put on it etc, and bought a couple of sets of wheels, but the tyres look a bit cracked/perished on one of the sets.

The tyres are INSA Turbo Dakar, and the other is a BF Goodrich MT which is fine.

or I have road tyres which are a gt with 8mm, falken with 8mm & 2x michelin with 6mm, on another set of wheels which I could swap over. Would that be a good idea?

So are these safe to use? or not?

Those tyres are scrap. Its not worth the risk using them. Sounds like you have already spend a bit on new chassis etc. Spend a bit more on some decent rubber. Would be a shame to smash up your investment and risk injury for the sake of scrimping on a set of tyres.

I certainly wouldn't be using those tyres. They're ready for binning

I'd say they're off road use only, and I'd only trust them with inner tubes in 'em!

yeah might put them on a different set of rims

what tyres would people recommend? not got much to spend so would be after some all terrain budget ones.
