I am thinking of getting a performance chip for my 3.0l td6 2002. I see on the internet that there is a wide range of chips available ranging from £100 to £600.
Can anyone tell me if and what the main differences are between all these different chips and if there are ones to stay away from and ones that are recommended.
Thanks

I have an £80 one off the bay

That I use for off road purposes only obviously ;)

Big difference in performance

People will tell you it will shorten the life of your gearbox which is true

But it's worth it ;)

Thanks, I was thinking of getting one fir everyday use to help prolong the life of the engine and improve fuel consumption. Good to hear that it also improves gearbox life.
Which chip did you get (if you don't mind me asking)

It won't prelong the life of the engine me thinks

As its changing how its been designed to run from the factory

I'll try and send you the link for the one I got.

Mine is adjustable so you can choose the power you want

I have mine on high so it actually does less mpg then before
But you can put it on Eco

A remap is meant to be a better option as compared to plug in chips as there tailored to each cars engine

Think you misunderstood me

It will shorten the life of the already weak gearbox fitted to the TD6 !
