Hi just had. An offer of 6250for my resent stolen 90 galv chassis not a show peace just a good condition p reg with125000 on the clock what you think of the offer fair or not

Really difficult to say. On the face of it, it sounds OK, but could you replace it for that price?

I doubt you could rebuild a (almost?) tax exempt 1974 on a galv chassis for that if you were paying for the vehicle, and someone else to do the work.

Get a quote from one of the restoration firms, that'll give you a shock!

well said Pumpy. it's a good sum of money but could you get back to the same standards with that money. obviously if you have a 20yro winch on the stolen truck they won't see that at any value so you can't expect to make a shopping list of all brand new parts to replace it and expect that total of parts to be paid out by your insurance but you should be able to get somewhere near.
My Dad had his work van stolen a few years back and he managed to claim for his glasses and prescription sunglasses and silly little things like his lunch bag and flask along with all his tools replaced in full value of new equivalent tools. so make sure your not just claiming for the vehicle itself. do you have glasses for driving that you would have left in the truck what about satnav or maps for greenlaning did you have a socket set or breakdown toolkit etc etc it all adds up and so if it was in the truck then that make you at a loss for those items aswell.
you could even push your luck and try for a tank of fuel :D it's all worth trying for you'll be amazed at what my Dad managed to get out of his van being nicked

Hi thanks for the time to look there was 200 excess and 200 personal property.hard.to find a stock one but with chassis there's a few all specked up

Always reject their 1st and second offer. My son wrote off a 6 year old clio and they went from a first offer of £1400 up to £2375 wit some negotiation. Get examples from ebay and autotrader of similar vehicles and negotiate with them.

Good luck
