Passenger Window

Hello All.

My passenger side window has stopped working. I can here the motor running and a crunching sound but no action.

Any Ideas?

1st one is - "DO A SEARCH ON THIS FORUM"

I'm too busy looking for a paper bag for MHM to do it for you :blabla:

Firstly- you are a very helpfull cheery guy. Why did you reply if you just wanted to be obnoxious???...

Secondly- Where are the rest of the ideas if you have and I quote "loads"????????????????????????????????

Third and final- I did do a search but came up with nothing. As a new member I am still not sure how to work the site fully.

Coz I'm an asshole

I am working across 5 different forums for different vehicles and the most common theme is people bounce in ask a question and bounce out, instead of having a good look around.

When I am interested in a vehicle, the first thing I do is trawl the Internet for forums about that vehicle - the busier the forum, the more problems with that vehicle.

I then have a good look thru those forums to find out whether it's worth buying and what to look out for.


Then I have a thorough raed thru the threads on all topics to familiarise myself.

Then I may join and intoduce myself

Then I may say how pleased I am with it

OR:-

If I have a probem, SEARCH through the threads for similar and fixes.

If this works I will thank those who posted such fixes and/or make a contribution if I have anything to add to that fix


Loads & loads of posts on here about window regulators/problems etc - including some by me.

I can come over and hold the mouse for you and click thru the stuff for you if you like. Just make sure there is fresh tea and some nice cake.

Hi
I've had this problem on both front doors.
Firstly remove the door card and have a look at the mechanism . If it is , as likely, the wound steel wire that has broken you will see it immediatly . I found on mine it severed at the lower pulleys.
I've read about repairs being made with bycycle brake cables and sealing wax.....! but time is money and I believe the best route is to replace with this

You'll fit it in 3/4 of an hour .

without a doubt, cable broken on regulator and wrapped round drum of motor. the bike brake cable method is sound, but you need time, patience and some mechanical apptitude.

a repair kit from ebay also needs a bit of nous, but again is within the scope of the diy mechanic.

and that's why some people get a little agitated on the forum. it's just the same old questions asked in different ways by people who (by idleness or inexperience) haven't done a search.

and we are expected to think of new and entertaining ways to answer their questions.
