passenger rear door wont unlock

hi the rear passenger door on my 1994 disco wont unlock.it was working fine untill the other day.could a rod have come off inside door
 
Before you start taking off door cards,try running some wd40 down the rods from the locking button thing at the top of the door!.
Pull the button back a little bit and spray untill you can see it dripping out the bottom of the door.
Worked for me.
 
The other thing is it won't open if the external release lever isn't fully extended,
push it towards the vehicle before pulling it back to open it.
 
The handles on the outside tend to get stuck in the up position get a small screwdriver and gently lever the handle back down then the door should open, then take off the door panel and as said before spray everything with WD40 and work the handle up and down it should start working.
 
i sprayed the wd40 like hoopfish said to do then pulled the catch with a pair of pliers and it opened.thing is the central locking dont work on that door now but i can live with that.cheers
