Evoque Passenger rear door opens when car is locked and won't open when car is unlocked

Issue with 2014 Evoque 2.2 auto diesel. When the car is unlocked the passenger rear door won't open from the inside or out. When the car is locked, the door opens and that causes the whole car to become unlocked. Once closing the door, it now doesn't open as the car is unlocked. Has anyone seen this issue before?

It's not an mot issue, you need a new door lock it's a common issue £45 in parts and 30 mins of your time
