Hi, I can’t find a post about this. I have a 2011 Range Rover sport. Recently the front passenger door has stopped unlocking with the rest of the doors. This is with the smart key and the button inside. It will unlock with the smart key if I am on that side of the car so I know the lock etc works. I have recently changed the battery in the smart key but I don’t think it is that because the when using other smart key I have the same. Also as the button inside doesn’t unlock it I don’t think it is the key. I have also replace the car battery so wonder it this could have somehow caused it? All other doors work fine. I have checked the fuses, two stage opening. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the asylum

Was it all working fine before u replaced the battery , did u use diagnostics to tell the system it’s been replaced

if it wasn’t ok before the battery change

Has it been power washed lately ?? ,

First place I would start is to see if the carpets are wet , lift ur interior door sill trims, where some of the wiring looms are run, may be water in the channel

hope that helps

Ps, trying to remember , do u have 2 x batteries in that plse, one in the engine bay , other in boot , thks

Hi thank you. Yes was working fine a few weeks ago. I only noticed it a couple of weeks after changing the battery. Hasn’t been washed or showing any wet areas.

I didn’t use any diagnostics when changing the battery. Just took out old one and put in a new one. I did wonder if I needed to do some sort of reset but as all the other doors work fine and it works fine on its own don’t think resetting was required. Plus wouldn’t know how to do a reset

no probs,

I was going to say pop it down to Halfords to get it checked out and reset , but alas I assume will be closed

Was that the main battery u changed plse, can’t remember if u have a secondary battery in the boot

when u get a chance , see if there’s any water in that interior channel by ur passenger sill plse

if everything else checks out it may be a sign of weak actuator / module??

However , At the end of the day Really need it plugged into diagnostics, due to the complex systems , particularly with ur rangy , otherwise after doing some basic checkers ur really just guessing

Just the main battery. I don’t think there is a second one on this year/model (I can’t find anything about a second battery)

nothing is wet in the sills or around the door etc

yeah I think it will have to wait until places are open again to get it checked properly.

just thought I would ask on here in case others had experienced the same issue or had ideas.
