The passenger door lock doesn't lock or unlock using the remote. It does however lock and unlock perfectly using the manual pin on the door. And all the other doors lock/unlock with the remote.

Is this likely just the actuator? As in replace the entire assembly with something like these:

FQJ103230 | Latch Assy-Front
FQJ103270 | Latch Assy-Front

Or is there likely to be a cheaper fix? I know other Rover cars have other issues with central locking, some very easy to fix.

While on the subject, I know there are two types of assembly, anyone know an easy way to ID which one is needed? Paddock says:

Land Rover FQJ103230 Front Door Latch Assembly RHD LH. P38 Range Rover models upto chassis number WA428521.

And:

Land Rover FQJ103270 Front Door Latch Assembly RHD LH. P38 Range Rover models from chassis number XA428522.

My chassis number is XA416...

Which doesn't seem to tally with either.

Probably just the motor failed, or the loom between B post and door. The motor can be replaced and I think one from a Peugeot fits, it may be in the How to section. You can exercise door locks with a Nanocom:)

As Datatek says, probably the motor.

MGF from the same year have the same motors inside and are cheaper than Range Rover. Rear locks are cheaper too and the lock just swap in and out. When you take the actuator apart the motor just clips in and out.

Might want to check the connections in the door pillar first.

I have just bought new front replacement actuators for my P38 from Island 4x4. Are they going to need any intervention from a Nanocom etc when fitted or are they plug and play?
