My 300 tdi front passenger door has dropped very slightly. It's about 1-2mm off the striker, making it difficult to open and shut...

Anyone know if it can be adjusted or is it new hinges time?

Cheers.

Easily adjustable.

The hinges have a number of spacer plates behind the hinge/bolt, remove some/add some as necessary to get it level ... made a world of difference to the sound and feel of mine.

Be careful ... they're slotted, you DON'T need to undo the bolts all the way, the nuts will fall down inside the door if you do, guess how I know!! ;)

Yeah, I hadn't read the book and assumed they were captive as I'd 'done' a mates 200 Tdi the week before .. not slotted spacers either! Had to take the door card off, etc etc etc ... dead easy job turned into a right b'stard!!

;)

if your door has dropped slightly all you need to do is open the door so its just clear of the striker hold the bottom of the door with both hands and give it a few sharp, hard pulls upwards. the door will once again shut as it should. you might have to do this a few times in order to get it to 'lift'.

dont worry about bending the door unless your stronger than arnie ! its a trick we used on accident damaged vehicles that had been repaired and needed a final bit of adjustment :)
you would be amazed at what can be forced and bent on the doors in order to get them to shut right.
