pass/side tyre, outside edge wearing badly?

if the wheel is so tight to turn that you'd be undoing nuts shirly that's a sure sign you've got "issues"

unless you peeps do yer nuts up finger tight

If the vehicle is suitably modded.


Had a mate who was paralyzed from waist down & he had one of of those scooby doo merkin, transit type vans. & a trike. & he got himself in/out or on/off both of em by himself.
 
if yu watch the vid - yu would be attempting to tighten the nuts anyway - and if yu do, and the wheel dont turn then yu got more serious problems then tight nuts!

I reckon the tightening torque for an alloy wheel is less than the torque required to move the VCU, it is on mine, maybe you don't use a torque wrench when tightening your nuts:eek:
 
why are you on about wheel nuts, i thought that the picture showed the socket on the wheel bearing (center nut)?
just to confuse you all, yes i have only got one full arm, but i passed my test in a manual(hehe)

All this talk of vicous couplings and what to do and what not to do. It is highly unlikely that a siezed coupling would cause one tyre to wear in this way. Wear on the outside only of the tyre with no feathering means in most cases that the camber angle is out. Check the top and bottom ball joints. Wear from outside to in, with feathering too much toe in. Wear from inside to out with feathering too much toe out. Wear around centre of tread, over inflation. Wear inside and outside of tread, under inflation. Wear on outside of tread with no feathering camber angle. That is why when you do a service you should swop wheels around diagonally to negate road camber wear. Not possible on rotational tyres of course you can just swop them back to front.
