Hello everyone,

I just purchased a 1996 Disco with the 4.0l V-8 and auto tranny. Here are a few of the current problems with it.

Cruise control - dash button lights up, but no cruise when i push steering wheel buttons. I viewed a few of the other threads on this problem and will try the suggestions the other members made. Provided I have the same system.

rear door wiper - checked the fuse and it is good. Haven't gone any farther yet with investigation on this one.

Passenger power seat - the seat back tilts back and forth, the whole seat moves back and forward, the seat front goes up and down intermittently,
but the rear seat bum portion is stuck in the up position and won't move down. When I press the controls, I hear a click, but no movement. I suspect it is somehow over-extended and unable to come back on it's own. Please help!!! When you sit in it, it feels like your sitting high up in a commercial transport truck, and the missus does not like it one bit! Gotta keep her happy of course.

Thanks everyone.

The cruise control is almost certainly caused by a cracked piece of rubber pipe. If you trace the throttle cable back to the cruise control unit, there is a black rubber hose with almost a 180deg bend in it. Mine had split at the bend. Cut end off push back on - jobs a good un.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks for the reply.....I checked the lines and sure enough, there were some cracks in them. So I cut off the cracks and reattached, but....still no cruise. Any more ideas????
