PAS Pump 200tdi leak / replacement

I have a leaking PAS pump (NTC8287)... couple of questions.
1 = is it worth buying the seal kit and try to repair it?
2 = if I need to get a new one is there anyway to use a 300tdi PAS on my 200tdi engine due to its half the price?

Seal kit might work, but the deign of the pump is carp as the defender version has a longer nose, and in the longer nose is a support roller bearing, which sadly does not run in oil so has a finite life, I have had two shafts shear clean off.
As you have noted they are twice the price of all other versions!

From what part of you unit is the Leak?

Try some power steering leak stop fluid first.
