Hi, just under 12 months ago I had a new steering box put on my 2002 TD5 90, shortly after this was put on I had PAS issues that it went heavy at idle and low revs.
I took it back to the garage and cue a new PAS pump, after a week or so the same thing happened so back to the garage again. It was thought I was just unlucky enough to have had a duff new PAS pump and it was replaced with another - However the mechanic said he’d found small metal shavings in the reservoir, he flushed the system, new fluid and all was well.
Until now, I’m intermittently getting heavy steering at idle and low revs again. Surely the pump can’t have gone in less than 12 months?? Any ideas, thanks.
