Parts Suppliers

I would be very interested to know your views on the various parts suppliers for LR spares. as I'm about to order replacement head gasket, bolts etc., I'm particularly concerned that I choose the right supplier. I will be ordering on-line as I'm in the middle of nowhere (feels like it anyway).
Also, any strong views on the various pattern parts available over the genuine or OEM versions? I can't help feeling that the Genuine parts are overpriced.

Pattern parts are invariably of questionable quality, genuine are invariably overpriced

Regards engine spares, however, there is a middle ground not often available with other flavours of land rover spares, such as parts available not through Britpart/bearmach/allmakes

Elring gaskets are the one to go for really, although Payen are decent too

Speak to a motor factor regards getting hold of bits and you will avoid the worst ****e that many land rover specialists are forced to supply through the big three suppliers

As above you are very limited normally for land rover parts but this is not the case for engine bits

I've always got my LR parts from Brookwell supplies in Bovey Tracey in South Devon. They seem to have everything in stock and their knowledge is fantastic. Their website for spares is very good too.
