Disco 2 Part number desperately needed

Evening all,

Does anyone have one of those part number program things that lets you view parts by diagram to find a part number to be able to order the right bit?

I've got a facelift 2004 Disco 2 Landmark TD5 and I've got a fault with an intermittent rear light / brake light (the 380 double filament bulb light - upper left cluster). I've tracked everything back and it looks like the fault is the bulb holder. I've tried cleaning and straightening the elements but if still only works for a bit with a bit of thin card wedged down one side of the bulb - looks like the plastic holder is a bit knackered. Luckily it was only an intermittent fault and it work for the MOT test earlier in the week!

Anyway, I guess my Google powers aren't what they used to be as I can't for the life of me find the correct one listed anywhere (every other bulb holder Land Rover ever made, and a few that I think where only prototypes but not this one!).

So if anyone could let me know the correct part number then it would be really appreciated.

I don't have the part number program for D2, but a trawl of the bay of fleas comes up with XFM100030 for the LHS...

Thanks but that's not the one. Mine has the twin element stop lamp / tail light and is 2 small bulb holders that fit into the back of the lamp housing with a slight turn to lock in.
It looks more like this:

but has 3 wires coming out the of back of it (the one in the picture seems to have a plug fitting on the back and is single pole / indicator fitting so isn't the right one).

The only thing to be careful of using one of these it that you have the correct light, the rear lights changed at a certain VIN.

agreed, i normally find the part number through the LR cat list then go on the net to compare and can then check against the vin number ,

found this ref the vin numbers

Problem there is he will need to check the VIN, as in 2004 they went to a 4A vin number.

Now if it makes a difference or not I do not know.I would suspect not, but it is a LR product....LOL

ur not wrong there ref vin numbers , i had a headache when i wanted to get an aux battery clamp and bolts , blimey it took me ages to find the correct parts , lol

Thanks guys but it's not that type.
Might have to find it via a VIN number - maybe a call to Paddock Spares in the morning might find it??

My lamps come out as a complete moulded unit with just 2 small holes in the back where the bulbs / holders lock in and the holders are small black self-contained things that have the wiring coming out of the back of them - they look a bit like the picture I've put above but with wires. The bulbs clip into the black "top hat" type holder via the usual bayonet fitting rather than clipping in to a large circuit board type track like number 2 in the catalogue diagram above.
Going through the above catalogue I can't find mine listed, it seems to only list the earlier ones.

Stupid Land Rover using any spare parts they had on the shelf for the run off years!!!

Brilliant, thanks, that looks like it. I'll have a word with them before I order and double-check but it looks right to replace the wiring for the whole lamp cluster rather than an individual bulb - but if that's how it has to be done then at that price I don't mind

yes for facelifts that's the harness from the brit-car link , you can't buy only the bulb holder alone

glad it was of some use , have ordered bits from them before and they’ve always been very helpful , along with delivering items quickly

Don't forget Paul the holder for the stop/tail light is a three terminal device. When people clean the contacts they always go for the two at the bottom but for some reason they forget about the contact which connects to the side of the body of the bulb.
Without that side contact, the stop or tail light works when the other filament is off, but when both are in use such as braking at night it goes off instead of getting brighter.
It's a fault you often see if the bulb has been disturbed, such as when you replace a blown one.
