Hi guys

bit of a daft question but will a 300tdi run parrafin / heating oil 28 second oil :)

I've heard theTD5 runs no bother but just wondering about the 300tdi

Whats the worst case scenario... blown fuel pump or will the engine go f**ked ?

Kerosene is a solvent, even modern diesel now has a lack of lubricity, kerosene even less - not good news. It can be made to work but not worth the bother.

It's also illegal and with the price of diesel being less than a £1 a litre I don't see why you would... Not even worth making bio diesel I don't think now - that's with free oil!

Because kero is currently 25ppl

I'm not saying I use it although I do have a 1000 litre tank of it in my garden for my boiler but that's why people do, I can't get red diesel but kero can be purchased at my local petrol station in 25 litre drums

So can red diesel. Most oil merchants have a pump at the depot. Or if you get another tank, they will deliver as much as you want. Some boilers can run red too!
