Parking sensors not working?

HI ive just bought a 2002 TD6, When you select reverse you get a long beep and the parking sensors light flashes but they dont work?

It has sensors front and rear

Any ideas?

huh, my parkin sensor dunt beep, it crunches when it goes through the rad of the car behind, handy for hanging the caravan on to aswell

remove the rear bumper and remove the sensor loom you will proberly find it has chaffed though and shorted out repair and retest

I had the same on my 2005 L322 after the recent set of snow. Just gave it a damn good clean and it's working fine now.

I had same problem with rear left sensor - I swapped sensors around and problem stayed rear left - so obviously the sensor was not the problem.

Used Rave CD to get instructions for bumper removal - checked wiring and found exactly what you suggested- frayed wiring under retaining clip.

Now working perfectly.

I just use my ears, perfect parking sensors

And my bumpers have all the signs of it

i find if someone is in the car im reversing to i hear lots of beep/shouts etc.

I can drive

so can i but i like crunchy noises
