parking sensors and tow bar

Hi all ,
New to site and was having a bit of conflicting info on tinterweb.
i have a 2002 free lander with parking sensor and need a tow bar for boat and trailer.
could any one please advise on what i need and where to get from? looked at ebay and towequipe but need more info on parking sensor...

I had concerns about possible tow-ball interference with parking sensors,
paid about £70 (around £300 new) for this l/rover detachable from ebay. easy to fit in a couple of hours, can't see any on there at the moment but there have been two or three in the last few weeks so keep looking i'm sure there'll be more.

My parking sensors are ok with the standard fixed towbar setup. I even have about 3" of spacer plates and a cycle carrier mounting attached and does not cause any problems (apart from bashing shins when loading the shopping!!)

Place something at the back of your car slightly bigger than a tow hitch, socket etc. put the car in reverse and see if your sensors pick it up.

surely the tow hitch replaces the reversing sensor ? when it touches something, you're close enough !
