Thanks for all help , think it’s going to be a take time job lol , not the most confident but reading all the reply’s in here gives a little hope , so am I right in thinking , this order ….replace shoes first and adjust then whilst wheels off etc go to the epb module undo cover and hopefully unjam/rewind and reattach emergency cable and then hope for the best, or do I do module first ?

It is best to put the epb box into service mode with a diag tool, otherwise you will struggle to get the discs to fit over the shoes.
Iirc one side fits nice yet other is a toss, maybe as all the free play has been taken out of it.

The emergency release has been pulled, so along as he doesn't try to reconnect using diagnostics (which it wont as its jammed) its all slack at the moment.
Its all got to come off. So adjusters should be wound all the way back before refitting Shirley;).

But pulling fuses for now would be best and disconnecting battery when working on it wouldnt go a miss.

Accessed the epb module removed cover , was a royal pain and possibly damaged a connector in the process , I haven’t replaced shoes yet just wanted to see if I could unjam and rewind the brass pin to reattach which I did as was wound all the way out and was jammed , now there’s a little blue plug at the top left inside the sensor I must of ripped this out as was disconnected and pins bent , I straightened pins and reconnected to hopefully work , but after trying the park brake button it doesn’t do anything before it was squeeling now it just bleeps from dash as I push it saying park brake not functioning, error codes say force sensor electrical fault I’m guessing this is ti do with the plug I messed up ?

I wouldn’t try and apply it again. Until you have at very least adjusted it at the wheels or you may find your self in the same situation again.

Hi I’m happy for it to Jam again as I left cover off and car on stands , and rewinding was ok once unjammed as used the autel to rewind , which it did however I’m thinking as I didn’t manually reattach the emergency cable I just assumed by feeling and they felt tight and I couldn’t move any closer that they reattached automaticity as no code says emergency release pulled anymore it just says force sensor error is there a chance it didn t reattach properly , I just wanted to know the module bit was done before doing shoes not ideal but done now .

Ok all working again just going to replace shoes on Tuesday , but adjusted today , sorted the wiring I ripped and reconnected emergency cable , many thanks to all that helped it’s much appreciated

The beast thing to do is release cables at brake shoes & then release the emergency release cable from up near the gearbox, it simply rotates anticlockwise to release then remove the 4 bolts on the metal bracket holding the epb black box. There are 2 nuts holding the black box to the bracket remove them then you remove the bracket. This will allow you to remove the black box & feed the 3 cables out so you can take it all out.
Once you have the black box out you can remove the cover. pull the emergency cable this will seperate the 2 handbrake cables. Unscrew the brake cable that is at the same side as the emergency release. Remove the three screws holding the white mechanism & lift it out & unscrew the brass bar to take it off the cable. Turn clockwise to loosen. once off you can then take the mechanism apart & check it.
