I got Procomp ES3000 (+2") and they work brilliantly with the GB Springs that I have... think those are probably a good mid range damper (about £30 each including the VAT)

Are +2" necessary? Do paras increase the ride height?

Thanks
S

Paras generally don't increase height that much depends what springs you buy Rocky Mountain are the nicest and give a little lift I fitted plus 2 inch as the pretty impressive off road I have the 3 leaf rear instead of 2 but there crap if you tow or load heavy weight

I got paras from GB Springs. If anything the ride was worse when the spare wheel was on the bonnet as the back end kicked out. But with spare wheel on the back hanger or in the boot its a good bit better. Speed bumps no longer involve a trip to the dentist...just the proctologist...

I've got standard shocks on and I'd say they're fine for road use, not too much sway or bounceback, anything harder will just make it sorer...

i bought a set of rocky mountains off this site bargin
put polly bushes in um 3 leaf rears o and shocks pro coms all for £150
got lwb shacles all round so puttin standards on back to level it out.
its a series 2 swb

i use motorcycle chain lube on my standard springs and it transforms the ride obviously have to remove the rust first

If you have the space, enthusiasm, and perhaps an old bath, take the rusted std springs off and soak them in sump oil for at least a week. This should penetrate enough to get them apart. The leaves may become free, if not then seperate them with hammer and cold chisel, clean up, slap full of grease and re-assemble. Cost is minimal - grease and new shackles.
