I know its been covered various times on various different forums and that every landys different but what I wondered was, should I attempt to change the bushes on my panhard rod using my vice or am I better off just getting it done in a press? I don't have access to a press at the moment but can do it in my vice tonight, I've read that it can be a bit of a pig to get the old ones out and I ain't superman unfortunately so what's the best option?

Depends how big and strong your vice is.Just belted the old ones out of mine with a lump hammer,an old socket of the right size with a bolt through it and the bush to keep them in line.

Ive got a pretty good, decent sized vice. I just don't wanna take the rod off then get stuck halfway through a job and be left without transport, wasn't sure how hard it would be with the vice as one post I read said that it took 5 tons on a press to get the old bushes out

Wolf i tried getting the bushes out my rod with a vice and failed. So i cut one out with a hacksaw but i ended up getting the other burnt then pressed out wea a 10ton press in a local garage . He then fitted the new ones for 10 quid.

Save yur self the agro and find a local garage wea a good press and fling them some coin.
