Im sure this has been covered a thousand times but as i need to order the bits tonight or first thing in the morning im hoping to get a quick response...
Ive read i need to wash it down with washing up liquid, then apply T wash, then a Zinc Primer, then paint. Is this correct? Can anyone confirm how they did theyres and if its lasted?

Thanks all......

Loads of chassis black then lump a load of ****ty waxoyl onto it then it'll look like the majority of other defenders ;)

A glav chassis is a surefire way of getting it stolen ;) Had a discussion in depth about them at the local club and it is worth hiding. Co if the thieving ****s can get at it, they'll have it stripped in an hour and off to somewhere other than the UK :(

Straight black hammerite seems to work ok.. thats what I used to do the galv bits of my trailer (well all of it actually), it lives in the garden and has done since I built it about 3 years ago, no problems so far... I'd do it properly on a landy though - going to need to take a lot more abuse than a home made garden trailer lol

as they say above black hamerite / wax oyle

and if it falls / flacks off

do it again next year like the rest of uss

just hide it or loose it...

you right so far or you can use hammerite special metals primmer that goes straight on galv then hammerite. dulux also do a product for bright and weathered galv metal shield qd primer goes straight on then metalshield gloss satin coat top not cheap tho .

£30 for a big tub of hammerite or your insurance excess after some tea-leaf nicks your landy because it has a bright shiny galv chassis... Very resellable are landys with galv'd chassis... or if they break it then a galv chassis is a very sought after item...

Nice for you to know you have it, but even nicer for the theiving ****es... Hide it, thats my 2 penneth

For this very reason I have gone to considerable time and effort to make my whole Landy look like a pile of ****e :D

I was getting quoted £30 a litre for normal paint. I overlooked Hammerite TBH
