Any recommendations for suppliers of paint in Series Land Rover colours.

I'm looking at £36.45 for 1 litre of Bronze Green from paintman.co.uk (inc. VAT and delivery)

Is this about right?

I think paintman is very good at colour matching. HMG from paddocks is a good paint and a fair representation of original colour. Most are a generic colour match but can be slightly off if your after true matching. Not that you can tell unless at a show next to an original.

I bought some Stratos Blue (not Blue Stratos - that's something completely different!) for my wife's 90 from paintman a few years ago, I agree great match and good application but more expensive than the stuff from Paddocks. (paintman does a wider variety of colours and more modern ones too)

I got my.paint from Smith and Allen. I think I paid that for 5 Litres. Can recommend them. Good customer service.

cheapest I found were called black country paints(trade on ebay as TA paint I think) got 5 ltrs BS224 deep bronze green for about 50 quid if remember correctly. Was enough to put about 5 coats on my s11 88 with a brush and gloss roller inside and out.
PS profile pic is a before pic ...will try to post an after pic

I got mine on line from a place in Liverpool https://auto-paint.co.uk/tinned-paint/cellulose.html c£60 for 5 litres cellulose - used nearly ten to do the whole of an 88 (hardtop with side windows) inside and out - better quality that that military paint stuff which marks so easily.

british standard colours only though, their "extra dark sea grey" looks good on a series. only pic I have at the mo

cheap source for thinners, surprising how much thinner you get through just cleaning the gun and stuff.

it is always best to have more than you need, if you don't get enough the next tin might not be an exact match. plus then you have some for touch ups if necessary.
