paint fade

in the experience of the wise members of LZ, how much does blue fade? the rear door on mine has a newer coat of paint on it, and seems to match in quite well.

I'm considering removing the VERY faded county stripes, but if theres going to be an equally unfaded blue stripe under it, might as well leave it for now.

better getta tub of farecla body compound (the right one tho`) and a polishing mop if you dont want stripes around yer landie...
you can do it by hand but

bloody hard work..

or mask up the stripes and paint em

defeats the objective tho`.

but once you`ve made your landie well shiney,
what then

its already dented and muddy, just trying to make it less, well, tired... the stripes really let it down, thays after the hole in the drivers door, rust stains etc, those stripes really stand out...
Im hoping (depending on what other work it needs between now and then) to repaint it next summer, so its a short term tidy up, bulkhead needs attention & chassis needs painting first, then the hinges, and THEN get round to tidying up ready for paint.

to get the the panels all the same colour (after removing graphics)

use a sealy, or similar sander/polisher (adjustable speed)

remove the lambswool disc.

add a sponge buffer.

then using G3 and water (important) buff the panel

when done, wash off all residue and then buff any "swirls" with the lambswool buffer.

then hand polish with MER

or, go buy a few containers of black/white/whatever shultz body compound, and after jet washing ya landie into submission,
letting her dry nicely,
ticky tape & paper up the shiney bits and just spray yerself happy again.
black body/ white roof simples..even lay a few floor tiles over the dried white roof and blast it wiv black...

your on a winner then
