I expect this has been done to death but I'm finding so much conflicting advice! I'm intending on painting my 90, I don't have access to a posh spray booth or a compressor/hvlp gun so I have 2 options, which is best- foam roller or I have a cheap ebay special electric sprayer of the fence spraying type?
I've picked a colour I like, for which I have a ral code, but I want a satin finish, what's the best paint to use- proper automotive paint? Or try and get the colour and finish mixed in Teamac or Rustoleum or similar?
If I use automotive paint do I need to get a 2k paint and flap around with hardener and stuff or is there a better option?

I did mine with good quality foam rollers if it helps, I found thinning normal paint worked best for me then applying thin coats with a roller, then taking a new roller and just running it over the paint to ‘flatten’ it

Was a bit hit and miss to start (don’t look at my bonnet lol)

Your local car paint shop should be able to mix satin synthetic for you.
Thanks for that, a very informative thread.

Yeah I remember asking you about it the first Surrey trip, couldn't remember what sort of paint you'd used though!
