Morning to everyone! i am finally now the proud owner of a 1997 4.6 hse range rover with a single point LPG system already in! The previous owner has already done the engine, removed air suspension, new 19" wheels with tyres plus a host other things! it just needs a clean. i am looking forward to learning how to fiddle under the bonnet and get my hands dirty. i feel this is a small price to pay to say you drive a classic luxury motor like the range rover - still cant stop smiling!!

Anyway the reason for my first post is that i have been searching the web and constantly reading the posts in this forum for info. I did read that one of the members had the P38 maintainence manual which he would send out via email to forum members - would anyone know if this was still an option?

just wanting to prepare myself. look forward to any replies. i am now going out to give it a full valet inside and out. cheers

CONGRATS
I have had mine for a year lpg single point,i am still smilling, any probs you will get the answer on here.:)

its a shame someone has butchered the car and taken off one of its main feature but you will still get lots of use out of it!! i still smile when i see mine. even though its brought me to the edge of my sanity!!

if youve followed and of my threads then it will be clear there are plenty of things to do!!

when you say the P/O has done the engine, what has he done?

welcome to the forum and p38 ownership, update your profile with your location and then we will know where to direct you if you need help/specialist help. if theres anything you need then get on here and you'll be sorted in no time!!!

gavbriggs here is the list of the things the p/o has had done - text copied from ebay listing..

Engine out rebuild incl new core plugs, oil seal, engine oil pump casing, new oil pump, new engine mountings and clean of sump pan and strainer (£690)

New Head Gaskets, re seat valves, new valve stem oil seals, complete new gasket set for heads, rocker covers, exhaust etc and new seals (£406)

New air pressure switch for suspension, service compressors etc for suspension and new fan belt (£177)

New performance coil conversion on suspension (air suspension still works and all parts included in sale to revert back) Materials (£295, Labour £200) Handles on the road much better than on the air suspension.

New air flow sensor (£ 70)

Full 4 wheel balance and track (£50)

Full service of the LPG system, now runs at 0% emissions and is smoother running than on petrol.

Brand new this week, performance slotted, drilled and grooved front disc breaks (£120)

so think it was a good mechanical purchase.... i hope!

if the p/o has had all that done then i'm sure you'll get some quality motoring outta it. sound good. i would still have it serviced tho just to be sure and that'll give you a start for your own servicing regime!
