Hi Digitalis

hi everyone just a quick update! i sent the becm to bba in rochester 2 weeks ago and not having heard anything took the liberty of ringing them today to get an update!! i was not best pleased to find out that the becm could be with them for up to 4 weeks, i am now toying with the idea of getting it sent back untouched and perhaps pm'ing irish rover or rick the pick and seeing if they would be able to turn this around any quicker!!
many thanks for your help so far everyone and i will post futher updates as they happen
regards
dave

hi everyone have been browsing the site for the last few weeks since buying what i thought was a dream car off fleabay only to be presented with a complete nightmare, i have managed to sort some of the problems out just by reading posts and saved myself some money to boot! however have had to register today to try and get some help in getting my rangie started and then hopefully i can get it down to the mot station to see if the long list of possible problems are real or just a figment of someone elses imagination ( no doubt i will post up with these at a later time if and when i can get the non starting problem diagnosed and fixed)
anyway i will try to describe the problem and hopefully get some help.
brought the car and drove it home next morning had to tow the caravan to a dealers for some work to be done, on the way i had a lot of air escaping from the car and it dropped to the bump stops! not a comfortable ride!!:) i had that diagnosed as airbags so i bit the bullet and replaced the bags only to find out the airsupply pipes were holed  anyway thats done now, so anyway after doing that tried to start the car and i got the enigine disabled press remote message on the dash, tried the remote and it wouldn't do anything (new batts in remote week before) after many unsucessfull attempts then tried the eka code no joy got the rac out again no joy so i had it towed in to a range rover specialist (not going to name them at the moment) who diagnosed the becm wouldnt communicate with the specialist computer, they then told me that the becm was dead and would need to be replaced but before they would do that they would get it up on the ramps and see what else needed doing as they were doing the mot as well and would see if it would be viable to replace the becm. to cut a long story short they presented me with a list of 101 different problems, which was going to cost £2200 plus vat to put right, ( i have trawled the internet and feel a lot of the things i could confidentally do myself but the thing that is stopping me is this becm problem. I cannot start the car for love nor money can somebody help me to get this sorted, i am not sure what things i need to tell you but if you post a question i will do my best to answer you as best i can!! for now i will tell you it is a 2001 rr vouge 4.6 with an lpg conversion i have removed the keyfob antenna from the rear of the car to prevent spurious signals have left the battery off and tried all the things suggested, tried eka and kicked the wheels numerous times!! hope someone can help
regards

Hi Dave,
I've just posted my recent nightmare of a non start which may be relevant. Don't give up on what is a great car and take advice from the guys on this forum, many of whom really know what they are talking about.

hi everyone, just an update on my problems
i finally have a living breathing v8 at last! as per my previous post i had originally sent it off to bba reman in kent who totally messed me about and i would urge people to think twice about using their services. i finally got them to send it back untouched and following other peoples reccomendations contacted rick the pick and irish rover who both responded in a flash and were both extremley helpful, i finally settled on sending it down to rick the pick who worked his magic and sent me my becm back in full working order and was very helpful in helping to sort out some problems i had. I can fully recommend ricks services to anybody in a similar situation!
all that is left to do is to get it through an MOT tommorow and get it taxed and i will be back driving a real car lol!! :car:
Many many thanks to everyone who has contributed to getting me back on the road have a beer on me lol :beer2::beer2::beer2::beer2::beer2:
i am new here! i have a quick question regarding eas setting do i need to start a new thread for this or do i just tag it on to the end of this one?? sorry for being a noob
once again many thanks everyone

hi yet another update and although the car failed its MOT the problems were not as bad as i was led to believe by an unscrupilous 4x4 repairer in birmingham who estimated it would cost £2700 inc vat to get through the mot. the car has failed on headlight aim and a couple of bulbs as well as failing on emmissions which i can pin down to a faulty lambda sensor which will be replaced on monday! all in all will cost about £100 or so including test and re-test so i'm a very happy bunny!!!
