p38 whining from carb on acceleration

there seems to be a whining / whirring noise on acceleration on my 1998 p38 4ltr.it seems to be coming from the carb/air filter.
anybody else had this problem or knows what it could be, and what should i look for?

it's fuel injected, unless you have a performance filter-check alternator,ac compressor and water pump

usually is the alternator that wines, also check air intake hose is all sealed and squeeze it see if there are any cracks or tears

it was the alternator.
changed it .problem sorted
