We'll as you will may have read I have a burgled a rangie for my collection or wore lasses !

I mentioned a ticking from the manifold area well after putting it on the ramp etc can't find a blow but it's on both banks but more prevalent on the right bank

From under the car it is fare worse sounding like the joins from manifolds to cat but they are not blowing it is a very tinny sound going down these pipes to the cats that sounds almost like a tiny diesel pink

Is it just me ? Are the valves burnt out ? Are the cats fecked ? Is the timing out ? Throw some stuff at me peeps
 
We'll I thought that too they are a bit ****ty, but the tink is most noisy on the down pipe before the cats but I do think the cats are on the way out, not bothered its LPG for emissions and has a full straight through stainless system cat back

But the tink it just sounds a bit ****ty you know, you can't hear it inside the car but outside it's there
 
Yeah I can imagine that's annoying more than anything then? Hopefully it's just something loose then.

We'll hmm not sure it's probably major ie valves I was concerned with it having gas all it's life, only time will tell I screwed it for a hour under hellish load it never blew up or lost coolant so can't be that bad some one would probably listen to it and say there is not wrong I suppose a compression test would tell if I can be arsed lol has any one got the figures it's got its original block but has had heads done at some point and there is white residue like rad weld or sumit all over the engine bay looks like it's had a right hose explosion at some point in its life but it's fine now and with 160 k on the clock
 
You may be right, any visual evidence of exhaust leaks around the manifolds. They can sound like a tap / tick on the RV8.
Could always try the old length of hosepipe to your ear to pinpoint the location.
Taps when hot are the biggest worry on the V8.
 
Can i just clear up, what i think this is ?

I havent conferment it yet however when i plugged in today i got all of theses faults

p0130 o2 sensor bank 1
p0340 camshaft position sensor
p0174 bank 1 and p0171 bank 2 system too lean
p0118 coolant temp to high
p1590 ????
p1319 ????

cleared them all only active fault camshaft position sensor, i reckon the ting or tap i am hearing is indent a "Pink" and the camshaft is causing the timing to be out hence why the noise comes and goes and is more audible when cold
