P38 TAIL PIPE HAIR? HELP!

Hi there
Have had my P38 for some years. Bought it converted to LPG. Problem with suspension so had springs installed - best job ever!
Car has sounded a bit off for a few days so cleaned plugs etc. Drove home from golf today and 5 feet of hairy stuff dragging from tail pipe. Pulled it out and still more to come but too hot to touch.
Help!

Time for a new system. That is the sound absorbing material from inside the silencer boxes. No wonder it's running rough.
