Dear all,

I have owned my P38 for a couple of weeks now and it has performed without a hitch, so far.

Last night I lowered the suspension so my mother could get out of the car easily and when I returned the system to the normal running height it gave off a very loud gush (like an airline being disconnected but MUCH louder) that seemed to come from the rear of the car. It is now resting on the lowest setting and will not raise the car. The compressor is still running and there are 2 lights on the suspension switch display illuminated, one of which is flashing.

I assume that something has either become disconnected or burst and was looking for some advice before I have a look at my parked up car.

I bought an air suspension cable and diagnostic disk incase I needed it when I first bought the car, do I plug in and it will tell me what the reason is or do I need to check individual parts also?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Either an airbag has split or a line has come adrift, most likely the former. Letting the compressor run in this case will knacker it. Find and rectify the fault.

It will not show any faults if an airbag has split or an airline has failed. If the airbags are more than 7 or 8 years old, they will all need replacing.
90% chance it's an airbag failed:eek:

Thanks for the replies.

I will remove wheel and inspect what I can to see if it is a split airbag or hopefully loose line.

With the car sat right down you may not see a slit bag as the slit may be in the fold. It might be worth your while to run the engine with a door open. Like this the compressopr will run to build up pressure but the open door electronically prevents the suspension from moving. Once the compressor cuts out close the door and you should hear the high pressure air coming from the faulty part.

If you're jacking it up remember to go steady so as not to damage the height sensors.
