P38 Steering Wheel Change

Hi,

Righty im going to be changing the steering wheel to a nice leather one in the next few days, but im a little worried about the air bag. Is just disconnecting the battery enough? or should i be doing something else?

Also am i right in thinking the all i need to do is pop that front cover off, disconnect the airbag and there will just be a 24mm nut to remove?

Your pretty much there, the only thing I would add is that by the book it says to wait 30 mins for any residual current to drain after disconnecting the battery. Not sure on the nut size. The front cover is held on with 4 screws, cant remember if they are Torx or not, have a feel around the back of the wheel boss for the holes. If your swapping over the switches you will need a really small Torx bit.
