Box was centralised as per Rave. There was a small amount of play, c. 8-10mm in centralised position which I took out by tightening up the box using the nut on top.

The fidgity steering I am putting down to too much toe out, as this has a tendency to make it more unstable. Toe in make the system more stable and forgiving of road conditions, while the toe out allows more reactive steering, but does suffer from less than perfect road conditions. I hope to reduce the toe out over the weekend, and will advise on how it responds.

Driven wheels are all set parallel to toe out. None driven wheels are set parallel to toe in. Maybe you have over tightened the steering box. That would certainly make things twitch a bit.

I have just bought my 200 p38 and the first thing i noticed was the tracking. took it to tyre centre and got the tracking done and now it will hold quite a sright line but any bump in the road and its all over the place. If anything its worse now! going back on friday, might ask the gut about steering box, apparently he used to work for LR so surely he should know how to do it

It would be interesting to know what tyres are being used with this problem as i have had trouble with tracking and when i had new tyres fitted to the front it improved.
