it will have been asked before but i am wet, cold and very ****ed off so:-

blown the head gasket on my 4.6- 1998, guy came today to collect it for repair. only going a couple of miles up the road so says he will tow it and keep below 18mph, anyhows i came to unlock it and the battery is dead after being stood for 2 weeks, so he hes whipped the battery away to recharge it today and collect the car tomorrow. i assume the car will be immobilised and will have lost it's code to unlock it.
reading on a few sites it says if i reconnect the battery and then put the key in the ignition it will syncronize the remote to the car and all will be hunky dorey, is this correct or do i have to mess about trying to get the code for the door lock twiddling and resync the remote like that?
funny thing about owning a p38 aint it! you learn to type a lot faster when it goes belly up......

You resync the remote by putting it in the drivers door, and locking it whilst pressing the locking button on the fob. If all else is ok this should do it.

Hi
Following battery removal, rad/cass sec. code will need re-entering. Windows and sunroof will need to be set. data in trip comp. lost. key fobs will need synchronising.
To synchronise: If the vehicle is locked, press the 'unlock' button on the handset and unlock the vehicle using the key.

If the vehicle is unlocked, press the 'lock' button on the handset and the lock the vehicle using the key.
You may have to do these actions with the key in the door, I cant remember.
If your display shows 'window not set', fully open and close each window in one continuous operation. Once the window has been fully opened & closed, an audible warning sounds and 'window set' is displayed.
Fully open and close and then fully tilt and close sunroofin one continuous operation, you should hear beep and see sunroof set in display.
Hope this helps.

will give it a go when i get the batery back tomorrow, then again when i get the car back again after the gaskets are done. cheers mate:D

Correct Marmite, i forgot to say whether it is unlocked or locked or not. And you have to do it as you turn the key in the door.

try this link http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/battery-earth-lead-63951.html

phone the landy dealer or get yr mechanic to and tell them he's just replace the battery and the code now needs entering.

also in the post, make sure you take yr time and listen for a beep after the first 4 unlocks then enter the code, its easy but its also easy to get frustrated with it!!! and do set the windows and doors before you start as this seem to help in my case!!
